MECA (Education Coordinators) Community of Practice in-person meeting
Education Coordinators, Directors, and Managers convene to discuss topics related to overseeing the Education component. Discussions include trends, questions, and challenges that arise in members programs. Meetings are facilitated by a member of the group and the agenda is created collectively to ensure inclusivity.

Mental Health and Disabilities Managers Community of Practice in-person meeting
This meeting is intended for those working in Head Start roles such as Mental Health/Disabilities Managers, Coordinators and/or Consultants along with other positions that work directly with children, families, and staff that ensure children receive services and support for emotional wellbeing, disabilities, and/or developmental delays. Meetings occur five times a year, with one meeting in the spring that includes a training. The meetings provide space for discussion topics relevant to the field, Head Start and Community/State practices and regulations.

Board of Directors' Meeting
The MHSA Board of Directors is the governing and oversight body for MHSA. The Board meets regularly to oversee and act as liaisons to the various committees and Executive Director, developing papers to reflect our view(s), and participating in corporate evaluations of staff.

Sustainable Leadership: Building on your skills

Development Committee Meeting
The MHSA Development Committee is responsible for the ongoing revenue growth of the association, including identifying growth opportunities, new revenue sources, and opportunities to take on new projects and activities. The Committee is also tasked with assessing existing revenue generating activities, collecting data, and evaluating outcomes.

Prevent‐Teach‐Reinforce for Young Children (PTR‐YC) is a research‐proven, family‐centered approach used in preschool settings nationwide to resolve persistent challenging behaviors. Join us as we learn the five steps of the PTR‐YC model: 1) teaming and goal setting; 2) data collection; 3) functional behavioral assessment; 4) development and implementation of a behavior intervention plan; and 5) using data, arranging for generalization, and next steps.

Professional Development Committee Meeting
The Professional Development Committee is tasked with planning and overseeing MHSA’s professional development opportunities, including conferences, trainings and events, communities of practice, and other learning opportunities. The Committee will be tasked with collecting and analyzing member survey data to understand and respond to member professional development needs. The Professional Development Committee may also be asked to evaluate external professional development opportunities and data to ensure that MHSA is filling an unmet need for Head Start programs.
Policy & Advocacy Committee Meeting
The MHSA Policy & Advocacy Committee is tasked with overseeing MHSA’s external advocacy operations, including reviewing and recommending policy endorsements and sign on letters and developing advocacy strategy.
